I joined the mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa as the MC (master of ceremonies) for the 2009 Latino Heritage Month creative writing contest ceremony today!
The creative writing contest is a program that fosters literacy & encourges writing for improved academic performance and as a viable artistic practice. This special event brings teens together from all over Los Angeles county

So guess what? This coming weekend im getting away….super excited! And guess where i’m going? Mt. Rushmore National Memorial! Yes. Such a historical place and I will be there up close & personal! Sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln represent the first 150 years of the history of the United States. The memorial is a reminder to everyone that “even the impossible is possible” No one ever believed anyone could ever carve faces into a mountain and look! AMAZING!
