Today I had the honor of hosting the 2009 LATINO HERITAGE MONTH POSTER CONTEST AWARDS CEREMONY with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. This contest invites students from kindergarten through high school, to explore significant events or individuals of the Latino Culture and highlight their own artistic skills and interpretation of the theme. Community members, artists and members of the Latino Heritage Month Committee judged entries. This year there were over 400 entries.
