This weekend was one word…..INCREDIBLE! I love traveling and seeing new places…..this time I landed in South Dakota. A small city with hardly no Latinos or blacks but yet very rich in history. Put it this way I couldn’t even find a spanish radio station….LOL, but the people were super friendly & helpful! We saw so much wildlife, bears, wolves, buffalos, mountain lions, wild turkeys, goat & wolves. We had a blast & took tons of pics. The main attraction in South Dakota is Mt. Rushmore. Its an amazing view when you are standing right in front of it!

I joined the mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa as the MC (master of ceremonies) for the 2009 Latino Heritage Month creative writing contest ceremony today!
 
The creative writing contest is a program that fosters literacy & encourges writing for improved academic performance and as a viable artistic practice. This special event brings teens together from all over Los Angeles county
